Can screws be removed from and acl replacement to enlist
(2 discussions)
I recently decided to enlist in the armed forces, however I was asked if I had any screws or pins, and I had to explian a acl replacement I had done in 2010. They cannot let me enlist with this metal in my knee and said I must have the screws removed before they would give me any further concideration. My Dr. used a donor tendon to replace my snapped one. I know he used screws to hold it in place but it seems it should have grown into place by now. Am I really wishing for too much to hope they can be removed, and if they could, are there any long range effects I should be aware of.
THANK YOU*~*
