carpal tunnel brace for tropics

(2 discussions)

I’m looking for the best brace for carpal tunnel that’ll allow movement, so I can still work, plus not heat up my hand/arm. I live in Florida and have abandoned braces in the past because they were itchy and hot… Thanks!

: Well, a carpal tunnel brace is suppposed to stop flexion and extension movement of the wrist, if you’re able to move the wrist with the brace on then it doesn’t fit right. Yep, braces are hot, that’s just the fact. When folks sweat a lot under braces I put a piece of cotton stockinette under the brace to wick away the sweat. You may be able to find this stuff at a medical supply store. It comes in different circumferences for arms and legs. That should help.

: Thanks! Try the “Exolite” from Royce Medical; I use them on my patients in MS with good results as far as heat & humidity; they do fit very well and are most appropriate for a lean forearm. Good Luck!
