Clicking Neck

I have had a loud clicking sound at the top of my neck for a few weeks now, it clicks when I turn my head to the right only, and then clicks when it comes back. It feels very high up next to the skull. I am 37 yrs old with no accidents to that area. Any idea what it is causing the loud niose and can I do something about it? ThanksMark

I have the very same problem! I am trying to find a good chiropractor though. Would that be the only alternative?

I have the same problem for about 6 weeks – besides the click at the neck, symptoms include stiff neck & shoulder.Went to see a Chiropractor about 3 weeks ago, the condition has improved . However the click is still there except that it’s less intense . My Chiro Doctor said that it will take sometime for the click to be away . I’m hoping for a recovery soon…Any body has recovered from such health problem ?

I got the same clicking sound a few days ago. It sounds pretty high up in the head (above neck). It only clicks when I turn my head. Has anyone found out the cause of the clicking sound? Does it go away naturally? Thanks, Hat

The medical term for a clicking neck is “neck crepitus”.
