COMPARTMENT SYNDROM!!!

I was just wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to have lateral compartment syndrom where you still get pain after you have stopped exercising???

I have the classic symptoms of compartment syndrom BUT when i wake up the next day after tarining my calfs still hurt – they feel like they have cramped up and feel stiff.

I would be very very greatful if anyone could give there opinion of to whether you think i could have compartment syndrom.

Yeah, I think that you can have lateral compartments syndrome. Anterior and posterior compartment syndrome are the most common but it only makes sense that you could have it in your lateral or even medial compartments as well. Also, compartment syndrome can be caused by a direct blow to the leg from the outside, which would essentially be lateral compartment syndrome.

As far as what you seem to be having problems with, you may have strained your peroneals. I’ve had trouble with this after performing a lot of physical therapy exercise that are supposed to strenghten my ankle—they ache and cramp up on me when I try to run. This was a really wierd feeling because I couldn’t dorsiflex!

    Anyhow, hope this helps!
