Constant Neck Cracking!

(2 discussions)

My neck has popped or “CRACKED” for years, I am 41. The thing is, that I do not use my hands to do this, I just turn my head without assistance and it pops where it tends to catch and I have temporary relief until I feel the need to turn it again. I am very concerned about this as I am a stomach sleeper with severe sleep apnea and I wake sometimes when I am turning my head and feel the strain of turning my head hard for it to pop again. I am worried that I am going to turn my head to far one day and who knows what I may do to myself. It cracks so easily that it is frightening. I have not heard of anyone doing this without using their hands to manipulate their head and neck to force the popping. It is not just one pop each time this happens, it is multiple cracks at a time. Could this be serious? Could I get paralyzed from this happening? Is there any desease that could be causing this? Please help me understand why I need to do this constantly?Thank You for any info you can give me on this!
