cortisone shots

I have had approx. 6 cortisone shots since a 1997 car accident that left me with severe neck muscle spasms.
This last Mar. I rec’d one last one. I have a small spot approx. 3inches by 2 inches discoloration with a almost dented area, like a sink hole in the same area. Almost as if my muscle sunk in or disappeared on my left side between my neck and shoulder. Does this seem like a side effect common with cortisone shots.
I have never had more than one or two in the past two years.
Seeing my dr. next week, any ideas what this could be? Thanks.

This is interesting, I have had 1 or 2 cortisone shots in each of my elbows during the past two years. I recently noticed a discoloration on my left elbow in the area where I had one of the shots. I would describe it as a loss of pigment. I am concerned about this but have been unable to get through to my doctor who is on vacation. Can you please let me know what you have learned? Thank you.

I have a caving in in the area where I had cortisone shots for elbow tendonitis. I think it may be normal….. I don’t’ have any more problems with my elbow though. I had about 3 shots and alot of physical therapy.
