cracked heels

My mother has very bad cracking heels. They are very hard and dry. When they split open, it really hurts for her to walk. She’s not a diabetic. What can she do to treat this?

I don’t know about preventing them (I’ve tried everything). But, when I get a crack, I use a small amount of superglue to close the wound. It works every time. Takes the pain of walking away immediately.

tell your mother to gently use foot file or pumice to remove dead skin and before she goes to bed apply a heavy coating of vaseline petroleum jelly and wrap with plastic wrap (saran wrap) each night. after her feet are better apply lotion everyday. worked for me.
