Cracking ankle

This may sound like worrying over nothing, but i want to make sure – is the fact that my ankle tends to crack and ‘grate’ an awful lot (and rather loudly) after it is at ease for a while cause for concern? Does this imply instability or is this perfectly normal? I have never had any real problems with my ankles in the past.
Thanks

My ankles crack all the time LOUDLY and have done for over 15 years without pain. A doctor once said if I did a lot of sport (which I do) it was a sign a good joint! (It was air escaping from joint)(possibly rubbish but…. no pain)
