daughters bump on outside of her foot

my daughter (who is 8 years old)has this mysterious bump on the out side of her foot, its located in the middle of the outside of her foot.she has had it for approximately 2 years. i’ve taken her to her regular doctor and as well as podiatrist a number of times and no one seems to know what it is.she had xrays and there were no findings there.the podiatrist casted her for a month thinking that it may have been a fracture that couldnt be seen on an xray.none of these things have worked and it does at times cause her quite a bit of pain.
Is there someone out there that has any idea what this is and if so what we can do?

Unfortunately, since I can’t see the area in question, it is difficult for me to guess. Possibly there is an accessory bone at the base of the 5th metatarsal which may still be cartilaginous. This is called an os vesalianum. I would recommend a MRI if there is pain involved.
Sorry I can’t give you more help.
