decoil or sprung shoes

(3 discussions)

I am a nurse. I work 12 hr. shifts. I have heel spurs that grow up into my achilles tendon. I am looking for decoil or sprung shoes….they have a spring under the heel, which takes pressure off the heel and lower back. I cannot seem to find where to get these shoes. Please help.

I broke and dislocated my little toe (the part of the toe bone in the ball of the foot) 6 weeks ago. The hospital reset and then I followed up with an orthopedist. After 6 weeks my foot is even more swollen now that I was told to put some weight on it when walking with crutches. I can’t put pressure on the ball of the foot where the toe broke as it starts to hurt. When I called the orhopedist to notify him that my foot is swollen up to my ankle he said as long as it doesn’t hurt it is ok. He said it could take 2 more weeks to 2 more months for the swelling to dissipate. What is your opinion because I am ready to get a second opinion.

I tate care of my mother since she is eighty four years old. Won’t send her to a nursing home. This morning I was told that she ran into the corner of the bed last night and dislocated her toe on her left foot.Since I know that the only thing a doctor would do is tape it to the toe next to it after resetting it. I pulled the toe straight out, felt a couple of cracks and the toe is straight again, taped it to the toe next to it, a pill for pain. Should she walk with a cane or crutches? and for how long?Thank You for your Help,John M.
