degenerated posterior horn med. meniscus

(2 discussions)

Dear Terry Robinson, Can you provide insight or advice about therapeutic activity for the following diagnosis based on MRI? “Considerable degenerative change of the posterior horn of the medial meniscus (left knee). Lateral meniscus and ligments intact. Mopderate attrition of hyaline articular cartilage in the medial joint space. Small joint effusion.” I am a 60 year old male who has been very active most of my life until July of 2013. Activities include over 40 years of playing competitive softball, intermittent competitive table tennis, occasional basketball, 5 years of martial arts, ballroom dancing and 10 years of practicing Yoga. Thank you for any information you can share with me.

I have been having sharp pains in my right knee, I had an MRI done and the conclusion was as follows: DEGENERATION, POSTERIOR HORN OF MEDIAL MENISCUS. LIPOMATOUS CONTOUR BULGING OF MEDIAL DISTAL THIGH. I am currently in the military and would like further guidance on this problem and what that actually means.
