dextroscoliosis

(2 discussions)

After a fall 2 months ago, my lower back still hurts. X-rays say…mild multilevel degenerative disc space narrowing is suggested, particularly at L5-S1, where there is a narrowing to a moderate degree.there The narrowing at 4-5 and 2-3 is mild. No compression fracture or spondylolisthesis is seen, although there is a slight dextroscoliosis.Could this have been caused by my fall (straight on my behind)?

I am a 78 male. On 7april09 at USC I had a successful Mitral valve and tricuspid valve repair. My EF is 50 – 55 %. Can perform allphysical functions with ease. Problem is my back: There is moderate dextroscoliosis with severe spondylotic change with vacuum phenomenon L2 – L3, L3 – L4 and to a lesser extent L4 – L5 with a near total loss of disc space at L5-S1. After 30 minutes of brisk walking I am hurting.Low back pain, right hip-buttox and rt leg. Am I a viable candidate for surgery?
