Dislocated shoulder

In the past I have dislocated both of my shoulders at least once, I have a problem with them randomly popping out and going right back in…leaving my shoulder sore for a few days or more. Now I have begun to lift weights and im finding it really difficult because of my shoulders wanting to come out a lot of the time…is there any kind of excercise I can do to strengthen my shoulders?

    I fell from a ladder & attempted to grab to hold on. I felt my shoulder pop. It is back in place and I can move it to some degree, but not laterally. Should I keep it in a sling, apply hot or cold compresses, try doing exercises?? Thank you for your helpJerry
