: My left shoulder has dislocated three times over the past two years. I’ve had some physical therapy; but, my doctor has told me that some ligaments in my shoulder have been torn, and that I need surgery. He also told me that there is a 100% chance that it will dislocate again if I don’t have shoulder surgery. My shoulder still functions pretty well, though it’s not like it used to be. Can you tell me how long it takes to recover from such a surgery? Would continuing the physical therapy on my own be a better alternative?:
