ThanksMM, I am sorry to hear about your injury. I am not sure about your chances to return to Olympic weightlifting, since it is such a demanding sport. The types of lifts will have to be considered, as well as the severity of the tear, and the skills of the Orhtopedist. What did your Orthopedist say about your chances of returning? Your age will hurt you, as far as the recovery is concerned. There is no doubt that you can recover enough to do everything else that you are used to doing, but I don’t hold out too much hope for returning to your specific sport… I sure hope that I am wrong, however. I do know that it is essential that you go to a PT that is well experienced with doing sports rehabilitation. Any PT can do basic rehab on a biceps, but you want to make sure you do your homework first, and try to find one that works with an athletic team, or does lots of sportsmedicine. Good luck with your surgery. Please keep up updated with your progress and your post-surgical prognosis.
