elbow stiffness

(3 discussions)

I had surgery to repair a radial head fracture in January of 2015 and have been in therapy for the last 12 weeks. My flexion is doing ok… not normal but useable. My extentsion is very poor. It is measured at 138 and is not improving. The therapist feel that at the point of my elbow it is rubbing bone to bone and is not a musucle issue. What can be done and is normal after this procedure. I feel to this point I am some what handicapped.

I had surgery 3 weeks ago (7/26) for a radial head fracture. I had the head replaces with a titanium implant. the prognosis is that I will never get full extension. I am very unhappy about that. by now you are 8 months after surgery. How is your range of motion, pain, etc?

I broke my olecranon on November 3. currently I have 5 weeks of physical therapy, and have an extension of 150 and flexion of 86. I am really concerned if will recovery the full motion of my elbow. I have been reviewing some pages on internet and notice that there is a new procedure call “arthrolysis” that have been resulting to some people.
