Entering Police academy, Dx: sprained forearm, popping sensation

I am scheduled to enter the police academy in early April. I sprained my left forearm over 1 year ago while lifting weights. I never gave it a chance to heal. I kept doing pull-ups when it hurt. I have been resting my arm & doing light (pain free) exercise of the muscle for 3 weeks. How long does it take for a sprain to heal? I keep experiencing a popping & cracking sensation in the injured area when I move my arm a certain way. I have been massaging the injured area and applying heat with a heating pad.How long is a reasonable time to expect to heal? Is re-injury likely? What causes this popping sensation?Any information you can give me would help very much. My entrance in the academy is riding completely on what happens with this arm, 100%.Would it be benificial for me to wait until the next class in June, just to make certain that my arm has healed? Thank you,Robert Finch

**It can take a good 6-8 weeks or more if you keep re-injuring it. Does it hurt after your painfree workout? I keep experiencing a popping & cracking sensation in the injured area when I move my arm a certain way.**What area of your arm are you feeling the popping or cracking? I have been massaging the injured area and applying heat with a heating pad.: How long is a reasonable time to expect to heal? Is re-injury likely? What causes this popping sensation?**The popping sensation can be several things…the joint may be unstable and that can cause the popping.. It could be a tendon popping over the bone if the joint is out of alignment. Does it hurt when it pops? : Any information you can give me would help very much. My entrance in the academy is riding completely on what happens with this arm, 100%.: Would it be benificial for me to wait until the next class in June, just to make certain that my arm has healed?**Have you seen a doctor to get a correct diagnosis?: Thank you,: Robert Finch
