Excruciating Foot Pain

(2 discussions)

Since having part of my kidney removed a year ago I have had increasingly terrible pain in my left foot (top of foot).
It started out as an occasional happening, but now it wakes me out of a sound sleep with burning, stabbing pain on top of my foot.
My right foot is also now starting to exhibit the same pain.
It is always worse after getting into bed.
I thought it might be GOUT but not sure.
Has anyone else experienced this?
What will help?
Thanks.

Gout is characterized by a sudden onset of a red, hot swollen joint. 75% of first attacks are at the big toe joint. It is usually one joint at a time. What you describe does not sound like gout. I recommend you see your internist for further evaluation.

Hi, I used to search for answers on this forum, my feet burn and get prickling sensations, I differ from yours, mine are better at night, but there are many others at the “peripheral neuropathy forumat the Massachusetts Genaral hospital”, that talk of similar complaints as yours, might be worth a visit.
