extreme left foot pain

I have unexplained extreme pain in my left foot.
It hurts about mid-part of my foot.
It came on gradually and now the pain is very extreme and it feels like it’s hot, the pain is not a burning pain but a extreme pain.
I’ve had no injury to that foot, I am a 42 yr old health female.
Do I need to seek medical attention. Thank you
