foot discomfort

I have been having a problem for about 4 months with my right foot and my ankles. After I am on my feet for a 30 minute period my right foot hurts right around the place underneath my toes. I do have some bunions there. There are also times when both feet hurt on the bottom and I also have ankle pain. I have seen a Podiatrist and he has me wearing orthotics that slip in my shoes. He has tested me for the uric acid level and it was around 7. I don’t feel like I am getting any help with this problem. He seems to think it is gout and he has prescribed Alipuneral. What should I do?
