Fused Toe Bones

My husband had exploritory surgery on his toe next to the big one in May. He now can not bend the toe nor does it touch the floor. He has suffered with this toe for over a year now. He went to his primary care dr. today and she said it looked like the bones were fused together. She is sending him to PT. Is there anything else that could be done for this? It sounds like they would need to break the bones and have them heal correctly. Thanks, sbrewer

There are times that a fusion is necessary. The very best person to ask is the doctor who did the surgery.
