Guad foot drop

(3 discussions)

I am a quadraplegic and am looking for an ankle supportto wear at night.
Do they come in differant sizes? Imay want to add sheep skin or other material under thesupport to prevent pressure sores. I do have some footdrop and tendon tightening so there will be resistance. My goal is to correct this and stop from getting worse.Your opinionThanks, Leo

I am at a disadvantage since I can’t see the extent of your contractures. You might consider an AFO (ankle foot orthosis) which would be made by an orthotist. Also a possible consideration is a plantar fascial night splint. We do not have a great deal of success getting insurance companies to pay for these, however.Have you spoken to a physical therapist about your concerns? That might be a start.
    Good luck
