Help with neck pain

My on was in an auto accident back in June, and has just completed therapy. He was hit on the driver’s side with the other vehicle going about 15 mph. He was diagnosed with cervicalgia, and spasm of the muscle in his neck. I was wondering what is you opinion as to this being a permanent problem. Will he alwalys have problems with his neck?
