hip bone

(2 discussions)

I am in my early 30’s & I’ve noticed over the past month that my left hip bone hurts.
Sometimes it hurts worse than others.
It almost feels bruised… Do you have any idea what the problem could be?
It is bothersome to me…. Thanks

Laura,It sounds like it could be Bursitis, which is an inflammation of the bursa (fluid filled sac) which protects the hip joint. If use of rest, ice, and anti-inflammatory OTC meds (like Advil or Mortin- 2 tablets 3X daily) do not help, you should be examined by a physician or Physical Therapist. Please let us know your diagnosis and prognosis, and good luck.

Yes, mine too. About a month ago my left hip began to ache just below the outside surface and inward approximately an inch. My x-rays did not show any bone degeneration, space was normal. I was given a shot of cortisone but three days later still in pain. I am taking all the joint vitamins and calcium and have been for years. Any ideas?
