hip pain

for 3 and 1/2 years I have had pain starting at my hip on down to my hamstring and calf areas.
Physical theraphy has not helped.My dotor palpulated at my hip and determined that I have bursitis.
Will a shot of cortazone make the pain in my upper leg and calf go away?
