How long do I wait before seeing a Podiatrist??

Hi.
.
I know this question is asked a hundred times..but I don’t want to waste the doctors time or feel foolish if its nothing..but I have been jogging/walking for the past 3/4 months recently..
I have had bad pain in the ball of my right foot, tender to touch it and on the top of my foot by the 2nd/3rd toe it is swollen, even my toes are a bit swollen…its been like this for a few weeks..
I took a few days off from running and applied a cold pack, taking ibuprofin..then went back to exercising…now its back again????
You probably get this question alot…should I just stay off it for a few weeks?
I have never been to a Podiatrist before I am 38 healthy female..
I do have wide feet size 8 and high arches.. thanks
