Put one leg in front of the other and slide down. To do the midle splits put your legs apart like an upide down v then slide down. I am a gymnast. I tried to do the splits 3 to 4 times a day and after a few months I could do them!

Hi I’m a cheerleader for my school and an allstar team. Splits can be very tricky and take time. NEVER just spread your legs and sink down fast that can do alot of damage. To do it right you need to start out slow and go as far down as you can until you feel a strain and then hold for about 10 seconds. Repeat this maybe twice a day and you’ll get down further, and further until you get your spilt! And once you get your split don’t do cartwheels into them, yeah its fun but you look like a dork! And in college they make the people who aren’t stunting and don’t have any other gymnastics do them, and they look like fools !

Hi, my name is Mandy. I’m not a cheerleader but I still need to be flexible for track. I compete in 5 different events: 1.the tripple jump 2.the long jump 3.the 400m dash 4.the 800m run 5.the 1600m relay. I need to be more flexible for my jumps. I was going to take a gymnastics class for beginners since I’ve never taken gymnastics a day in my life but, it cost a pretty penny. So, I decided to check the internet to see if there was anything that could help me out and I think that this site has done the trick. So thank you Rachel and when track season comes around, I’ll be sure to write back and tell you how things went. Bye and Thanks again.

I’m completely confused. I did gymnastics for three years a year ago, and I’m about to start again. Well, I tried to do a split – which I used to be able to do – and I CAN’T DO IT! What’s wrong? I don’t understand how I “forgot” my splits.
