I need advice!!

Hey I have sprained my right ankle at least twice. I sprained my ankle last year sometime in October of 2013. I was playing outside with my sister, I lost my balance and feel directly on my foot and I heard a popping noise. It swole up and I could barely walk on it. The next time I sprained it was when I was at church. I jumped from like the fourth step up and when I landed my ankle was turned. That was I think around March 2014. I have had a bunch of minor sprains but they didn’t cause me to sit out during basketball. Now sometimes my ankle feels like it tingles and I pop my ankle to stop the tingling sensation. It is not swollen, but it hurts sometimes. What should I do, what is wrong with it, and should I wear some kind of ankle brace?

I would definitely wear a brace while competing and practicing. But what you really need to do is build up the strength in you lower leg and ankle. Once a ligament is damaged, it stays damaged, which is why you have sprained it so many times. You can, however, get the muscles around the ligament stronger, and they will help to stabalize.

well I have started wearing a brace, and it helps me not sprain my ankle, but I still have the tingling sensation. and what do I need to do to build up the muscles around the ligament?
