I have a 18yr old grandson who was told he had this condition of the feet.Told to stretch the feet as much as possible–is there anything else he can do besides stretching? A concerned Grandmother
I guess a question I would have is why at such a young age does he have inadequate dorsiflexion. Does he walk up on his toes? Where shoes with a heel all the time? There must be a reason why he is lacking ankle range of motion. But stretching is one great thing to do. Heating up the back of the ankle for 15-20 minutes will improve stretching of tissue. He should hold a stretch for a good 30 seconds to allow permanent tissue changes.
