ITBS?

(3 discussions)

I have had what has been diagnosed as ITBS, on my right knee, for the last six months now. However despite seeing several different physiotherapists, who all diagnose the same thing, and doing the specfic stretches and following the rehabilitation programme recommended here,
I do not seem to be getting any better. I have even stopped running all together or doing anything that bends my knees for the last three months, but I still have pain on the lateral side of my knee even when I am walking. Has anyone out there had a similar experience and can they recommend something different I could try that has worked for them? Much appreciated!

I also agree. Sports Massage therapy is essential for best recovery and stretching the ITB.

I agree with baseball chick.A sports therapist will perform a technique call ITB Release; its really painful be ive seen it produce some great results. It takes about 5 seconds either leg and should only be done once a week.Good luck!

I’m having ITB massage and stretches, VMO strengthening, glut med strengthening and some hammy strengthening. The massage does the most amazing things – you end up bruised, but it does loosen the ITB.
