Itchy foot
(4 discussions)
I’ve had an itchy foot for what must be at least 12 monthsThe problem is I don’t know if its Ahtlete’s foot or dry skinIts on my right foot, and only on the ball of my foot, not between my toes.
I’ve tried athletes foot creams and sprays, with little success, so now I’m trying moisturising and still no luck.
It tends to be worse in the evening… presumably because i’ve had my shoes and socks on all dayAny advice would be great.
Can you recommend a product?

What you describe can be a number of things. One possibility is a vesicular tinea pedis. Other possibilities could be a type of neurodermatitis or eczema. It is always best to see skin conditions rather than guess.

Without seeing your foot, I can not say for sure. It is possible this is a nerve problem (neurome, tarsal tunnel, or even low back pain referred to your foot)

I’m not sure if this makes it any clearer, but I’ve just noticed something elseWhen I file away the hard skin in that area I’m left with what I can only describe as tiny little ‘air bubbles’, about the size of a pin headThese are exactly in the area that causes itching
