Itchy Heels

(3 discussions)

My heels have been itching for several weeks, driving me absolutly crazy.
I have tried to put cortisone and Beville’s lotion on them but that has not helped.
What could it be and what can I do to stop the itching?

Itching can be due to numerous causes, one common one is a fungus infection. So without seeing the skin, I can’t really tell you what to use. I suggest you see a podiatrist or dermatologist.

I have been experiencing itchy heels.. I have tried foot creams and using pumice stone but it doesn’t seem to be raised. It’s more down deep itching, not service itching..

I have the same darn problem! The itching is definitely not superficial and my podiatrist can see nothing wrong with the skin: not dry, not cracked, no fungus. My personal theory is that it’s hormone-related (it got better when I was on the Pill) but itchy heels have tormented me for years, too. I have no idea how to treat them (though a 20% benzocaine gel called Orajel, for mouth sores, seems to help, even if only as a placebo) — but you are not alone!
