I have had a screw inserted to fix the fracture and have stayed off my foot for about 10 weeks.
I wanted to know if there was any type of brace or support I could buy to protect the injury.
The problem with this area is that it sticks out as it is the anchor for a very strong tendon. Simply putting a soft pad over the base of the 5th metatarsal will not stop the motion at the area. A rigid orthotic with a lateral phalange might be an idea, but it might not fitr in any shoe. You might also consider wearing a sturdy lace up solid soled shoe, provided your doctor has given you the OK.
