Kicked by a student and knee hyperextended

Seems unstable and hurts I had an xray and an MRI. What can I expect, I teach PE and I like to skate both roller and ice. I am up there in age so what can I expect. From not wanting to walk on the right one the left knee and my back are now suffering. HELP! I think I am getting scared and angry now. Peace
