knee cap rehab

I broke my knee cap and was operated on Dec 16-2013, never used a cane or walker. I’ve been going to rehab since february and I am still not the same. I never had pain but after having a few days feeling more or less ok I suddenly feel my knee stiff again. Does it take such a long time to recover. The doctor put two wires and says that if they don’t bother me they will remain there. Plese, I’m worried and it’s very hard not to bee the same again. I’m 65 and always \been a very active person, swam a lot, gym, etc. Please answer to my mail ’cause I don’t know how I fpund this page.I’m from Argentina and was operated by the best knee surgeon in the country. Please, tell me how long it will take a full recovery. never had pain, but my operated knee is not the same, I feel it stiff sometimes, which doesnt mean it is really. I wrote 3 yrs ago and I’m still waiting for your answer
