knee injury

(2 discussions)

Three weeks ago I twisted my knee playing basketball and my knee got swollen where I cannot walk. I went to the emergency room and the doctor said I could have tore my meniscus and I should gat a MRI. He gave me a knee brace and told me to wait three days to see if it feels better but I waited 2 weeks and know im walking normal again with a little stiffness but that seems to be going away too. My knee is bending fine I don’t feel pain like I did when it first happened. Do you think I really tore my meniscus if im walking straight without any pain?

I have had pain in my knee for about a year and a half now, I was diagnosed with Osgood schlatters disease and I have a big bump from it. I have been having pain on the left side of the bump, the bump is also sensitive to touch. I had an exray and an MRI done The doctors say I have fluid and a cyst in the knee. Then I went to a orthapedic specialist, He showed me the MRI and said in a certain place that that could be a tear. My symptoms are also I get aching pain by the bump all the time and it seems to hurt more when I walk. The orthapedic seems to think that my fluid and cyst is not where I am having my pain. Is that something that should be taken care of? could the cist be cancer? He seems to not even talk about it, My primary care doctor seemed to think it was something to worry about. So he wanted me to do physical therapy wich I did and it seems that it is not getting better. The second visit I had with him he decided to put a cortisone shot by where I was tender by my bump on the left side of my right knee. Now it is so much worse, My knee has been making popping and cracking noises, and the pain is alot worse cause now I am feeling it go down my leg and my foot as well and it is really painful. I cannot talk to my orthapedic until Monday. Do you have any advise to what you think this might be?
