Knot on the back of heel
(2 discussions)
I have been suffering from pain at the back of my foot for a couple of months and finally got my husband to look at it. He told me that I had a knot on the back of my heel so I reached down and felt it with my hand and sure enough there’s a knot about the size of a quarter just to the outside of the center. Could you tell me what this is? When I sit for a while, and than get up to walk I have to limp for a little while.
Thanks for any helps. brewer

A "knot" doesn't mean a great deal to a doctor as it could be a skin lesion (such as a wart) a bone spur, or even a bursitis. It would be more helpful for you to have this looked at by a podiatrist.
