Sport is basketball
Question: If I do not get this repaired and continue to play on in (bearing the pain) will it get worst? I have been told that if I strengthing my hamstring and quad, I might be able to play with pain. (I have an important tryout in december) Will I be furthur damaging my knee? Im seeing my surgeon next week.

So I saw the therapist and she said to try and start shooting. (I go see her again next week) I did and my knee felt like slipping. It didn’t hurt but it was just awkward. Both doctors and physios said that my ACL is fine and strong… so Soccergirl is this what a meniscus tear feels like? Sorry to hear about your knee! We’ve all been there it looks like!

    Hey,

I currently have a lateral meniscus tear along with a torn ACL, I’m having both fixed in december. It’s generally better to have meniscal tears taken care of because they degrade over time and will lead to further problems later on. If the tear is simply removed, the recovery is quick and relatively easy. I’ve seen athletes return to full competition on 1-2 weeks post-op.
