Left foot injury? please help

hey all. it all started around mid may of this year, during soccer going for the ball, i instead kicked the sole of an opponent foot and my left foot was badly hurt from the impact. the pain seemed to fade away 2 weeks later and i resumed play and then around June 22, 1 month from today, i was at soccer practice (and my left foot for the most part was normal, pain-free)and i then accidentally kicked the ground kicking the ball and i hurt my left foot again.

i never recall getting injured by kicking the ground before. so maybe its connected to the first injury? well anyway, its been a month since this last incident and i still experience pain on my forefoot. high school soccer season starts august 20th and im starting to get worried.

i’ve taken a month off and haven’t played soccer at all, i’ve been resting and i still have the pain… there is absolutely no visible bruises on my forefoot, and for the most part no swelling at all. i’m able to move my foot around and walk but there is pain at a certain spot when i walk on it.

i worry too much and i start thinking it could be a small fracture? is this possible? would i still be able to walk with it and move it around if it was partly fractured? or what kind of injury could it be? a deep bone bruise? the last thing i want to do is miss soccer season, i have a sports physical scheduled in a couple weeks from now but the suspense is killing me. does anyone have an idea what kind of injury it could be?

as long as its not a fracture i’ll be happy. but the reality is ive had this injury for a month now and there is slight pain when i walk on my left foot. if i try to run there seems to be more discomfort but its been getting better by the days. i hope someone can provide me with some good information, i’m probably just being a nervous nelly with this injury.

thanks,
nestor

sounds like you need to see a physio. football (soccer for you) is an impact sport and broken bones in the foot are common (eg david beckham). i would have thought a broken one in the foot would be difficult to walk on, it could be a ligiment strain or bruse. do anti-inflamitries and ice help?? if not might be bone related.
