left lower leg/calf pain

i have been suffering with severe pain in the calf and lowe leg, radiated to outter side, MRI does not reveal any abnormaliies, dvt has been r/o. Doc’s are perplext, my question aside from the obious which specialty doctr should I be seen by, I am loosing my mind over this pain, anti-inflamitories and narcotics for pain have been tried to no avail. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Just for help I have a hx of lupus, parkinson, autonomic insufficiency, irregular heart rate, asthma and gerd.

    Have you seen a neurologist yet? If not, that would be the specialist I would recommend you see. He will probably do a nerve conduction study to try and trace where the problem is coming from. Let us know how you make out.

    I would suggest you see a neurologist, if you haven’t already. That is the best specialist to diagnose your problem, especially since it seems to be due to a nerve. The problem can originate from either a disk in your lower back, or from the lower leg itself. A neurologist can do a “nerve conduction test” to try and pinpoint the cause of the problem.
