Lifting Weights with Spondylolythesis
Hi Dr. I have grade 1 spondylolythesis in L5. I have occasional moderate pain and once in a while severe pain. I am a powerlifter (squat, deadlift, etc)and was wondering what specifically I can do to ensure I continue to enjoy powerlifting without making this worse. Any suggestions?

Dear R. SwanA Spondylolythesis usually means you have a fracture in the vertebrae that has left a weakened area.Power lifting could cause you serious injury. You should consider another form of exercise.
