lower back pain while laying down

i have a strange pain which i’d like to figure out. if I lay flat on my back for about 10 minutes, I get an immense pain in the lower middle of my back. as the minutes pass, the pain gets much worse. the minute I get up and move around it goes away. if I prop myself up (like I do while watching TV in bed) I can lay for hours with no pain.
i never sleep on my back, so this issue has never lost me sleep. its just confusing and i’d like to know what it is. a clue may be in the fact i’ve never been able to touch my toes while stretching, even after practicing yoga for a few months. people always say a toe-touching stretch should be felt in the hamstrings, but I always feel it in the back – right in the same spot I have my pain while lying down. any ideas?

I have the same problem. It just started this past 2 weeks. It comes and goes when I lie down at night or sit for a while. I didn’t have it before I went to this Chiro. I am now seeing another one. In both of my xrays it said I had scoliosis (curvature of the spine). It is a mild case, nontheless, I think that is what causes it.
