Lump in Lower Back
(2 discussions)
I was drying off from a shower a few weeks ago and noticed a lump in my lower back next to my spine. The lump rolls around in your fingers, but seems to be dense. I went to my regular doctor and she said it was a fatty tumor. She set me up with a surgeon for a consultation. He was 90% confident that it is a fatty tumor, but wanted an MRI to be sure. Today I felt two more lumps on the other side of my spine. I am now more nervous. What are my chances that this is sarcoma?

I would go get the MRI. If they suspect Sarcoma they will biopsy. I would ask the surgeon, he is the best person ask. Lipomas (fatty tumor) are pretty common. They typically do not cause any threat.
