lumpy tissue under 2nd toe

I have noticed little feeling in my left 2nd toe.
There has been no injury, but the toe is enlarged and lumpy on the underneath side, in the tissue.
It does not hurt.
What could this be????

Without seeing it I can’t say for sure. I have seen several different soft tissue masses in this area, such as a ganglion, villonodular tenosynovitis, rheumatoid nodulae, or even a foreign body granuloma. If you are concerned, you should have this looked at.
