Marathon Socks

Some of the top marathoners wear support hose to aid in blood flow. Do they really help?Do the new socks from Asics that claim to help pronation really do anything?
I’m considering wearing them with my racing flats to provide more support without a weight increase.

Support hose will help push the blood back to the heart due to compression. I admit I am not an expert in elite running physiology. I bet you could go to Runner’sworld and get more information there or post a question. As far as the socks go, I have not seen them. So I can not comment specifically. If they have some sort of elatic in int arch area, it might help, but I can’t imagine much. In order to support the foot it would need to be rigid.
