Metartasal Fracture?

Over the last year I have noticed that I would get a pain on the side of my right foot after I had been on my feet all day. I am in the military and I work on helicopters so I am going up and down the things all day long, plus I walk around 4 miles a day at work due to the distances the aircraft to hanger. Yesterday about 1/2 way through the work day I noticed the pain came back. Like always I went to sleep and it usually goes away when I wake up. well didn’t go away and now the very outside of my foot really hurts when I walk, and I have a tender spot. It dosen’t hurt when sitting though. Any thoughts?

I recommend you have this x-rayed. If nothing shows up, there is a possibility the cuboid bone may be subluxing, but it woould be tough to show on x-ray. Most general doctors don’t know about this. Some podiatrists and chiropractors do. You should wear a sturdy boot, which you probably already do and see a podiatrist if you can.
