Metatarsal presubluxation syndrome

I am a distance runner suffering from metatarsal pre-subluxation syndrome–does anyone have any suggestions for some therapy I can do at home in addition to my podiatist prescribed custom orthotics and not running and wearing a toe splint at night?
I am hoping to stave off surgery.Any help is appreciated!Margaret

You can tape the toe down during the day, your podiatrist can show you how. Unfortunately, that method and all conservative methods have varying success results. The best way to be rid of the pain you are having and to prevent a future trasverse migration of your toe is to have the surgery.
