metatarsal stress fractures
My daughter was diagnosed with five stress fractures on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd metatarsal.
She is in a boot, but is a competitive cheerleader and has been taking off the boot to compete.
The area swells up more, she puts ice on it, and bears the pain.
My question: Can she cause more damage to these fractures or will she just prolong the healing process?
Her doctor seemed to think it was okay, but the pain would be unbearable.

I must question the wisdom of allowing this to happen. Personally I would not be in favor of this. However since I have not examined her and seen x-rays or MRI's, I really can't tell you the severity or ongoing and continuing trauma to the areas.
