MRI Results

I just received my MRI results and I am scared! The Impression on the report read that I have Broad-based posterior disc herniation at L4-L5 and L5-S1. Bulging of the annulus fibrosus at L3-L4. There is partial dehydration of the disc with mild narrowing of the disc space at L1-L2. Mild levoscoliosis. Mild facet joint hypertrophy. I am really scared! The doctor says that if I continue working as a cocktail waitress I could make matters worse for my back. How serious is all these and can I make it better? I need to work! I just want to understand exactly what is wrong and how I will be able to live my life. I am 33 years old and have a whole lifetime to go. Please can someone help me understand better what is wrong with me.

Lots of questions here. I would suggest researching on http://www.spineuniverse.com to further understand the significance of your spine condition. Hopefully your doctor explained to you the prognosis of your condition. Did he/she recommend physical therapy or chiropracitc treatment? Best of luck.Dr. Ibarreta
