my numb big toe

About a month ago, after a rigorous day in high heels, I noticed my big toe was numb. I also have a genetic bunion on that foot (which also throbs at times) and am prone to ingrown toenails. I have been wearing sneakers every day since but find that the toe is still a little bit numb. Should I be very worried? I am currently away from home and have no health insurance to get checked out, but wondered what this might be.Worried.

You may have irritated the small nerves that go to the end of your toe. This may heal but may take 4 to 6 months.
